The Agency is committed to improving the broader wellbeing of veterans and the families of veterans. We will work in unison with DVA, Defence and with the organisations, providers and communities who support those who serve and who have served.

The Agency has been created to make it easier to find, understand and access wellbeing support by bringing services, information and connections together in a more coordinated and practical way. The commencement of the Agency is an important step forward in strengthening how veterans and families of veterans are supported.

At its core, the Agency is designed to help people take the next step with confidence — whether that means finding guidance early, being connected with services that meet their circumstances, or accessing trusted information and community-based support when they need it.

At first, the Agency will focus on veterans and families who may need extra support as they transition from service. This reflects the Royal Commission’s recommendation to provide support early, recognising that the first 12 months after service can play an important role in long-term wellbeing. This will include on-base support through Veteran and Family Support Officers.

Support is also available for all veterans and families through the Agency’s website and phone line, so people can find information and connect with help when they need it.

Over time, the Agency will continue to grow and evolve — shaped by feedback, lived experience and a shared commitment to improving wellbeing outcomes for veterans and families.

You can connect with the Agency online by visiting the newly launched website www.veteranwellbeing.gov.au for more information or follow us on Facebook www.facebook.com/veteranwellbeingausgov/ and Instagram www.instagram.com/veteranwellbeingausgov/
